These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Scorae, a grading-assistant browser extension and related website and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Professor C Academy LLC ("Professor C's Academy," "we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Scorae helps teachers evaluate student writing by distinguishing between technically correct answers and responses that show genuine understanding, and by drafting feedback that the educator reviews and controls. Scorae operates within third-party platforms (such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, and Google Docs). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those platforms.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account, and you agree to provide accurate information.

3. Subscriptions, Trials & Billing

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others; (b) reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service; (c) upload content you do not have the right to use; or (d) rely on Scorae to make final grading decisions without your own professional review. You are the educator of record and remain responsible for all grades and feedback you issue.

5. Student Data & Privacy

Student work submitted to Scorae is processed to generate feedback and is not retained afterward. Our handling of information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with your institution's policies and applicable student-privacy laws.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Professor C Academy LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You retain ownership of content you provide; feedback drafted for you is yours to edit and use.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with and relies on third-party providers (such as payment and hosting providers). We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Scorae assists with grading but does not guarantee the accuracy or appropriateness of any evaluation or feedback; you must review all output before relying on it.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Professor C Academy LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
